If you reside 60 miles or more from the courthouse, you are approved for an overnight stay. You will be responsible for making your own reservation. Please book directly through the hotel and do not book through a travel site. A list of nearby hotels is provided below. Advise the hotel that you are a federal juror and should receive the government rate. If the hotel requests verification when you check in, present your summons. A copy of the hotel receipt is required and must be submitted to the Jury Specialist for reimbursement. You will be reimbursed the actual cost of your lodging (plus tax) and a flat per diem rate to cover meals and incidental expenses.

If you elect lodging in excess of the government rate, you will be responsible for the overage. If you are having trouble finding lodging at or below the government rate, please contact the Jury Specialist for assistance at (515) 284-6270 or IASD_Jury@iasd.uscourts.gov between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
