The U.S. Probation Office for the Southern District of Iowa is currently accepting applications for a U.S. Probation Officer. There are three offices within the Southern District of Iowa (Des Moines, Davenport, and Council Bluffs). This position is for the Davenport office only. Lateral transfers from other Federal Probation Districts are strongly encouraged to apply.

There is a need for attorneys to apply to the Criminal Justice Act (CJA) panels to represent indigent federal criminal defendants. The need is especially pronounced in Davenport. CJA panel attorneys have the opportunity to serve the public by protecting the constitutional rights of indigent defendants. The judges of the Eighth Circuit invite you to attend the 2027 Eighth Circuit Judicial Conference at the RiverCenter convention center in Davenport, Iowa. The conference will take place July 14 – July 16, 2027. This will be a full conference for all judges and members of the Bar.
